Delivery Methods

The college is strongly committed to providing quality training and skills development services for the Construction Industry and has made a decision not to pass on the User Choice training fee of $2 per nominal hour per apprentice for 2009/2010 financial year. This will be reviewed on an annual basis.

Training can be customised and delivered off-the-job (at the college), or on-the-job (in the workplace) or a combination of both, as negotiated and outlined in the Contract of Training 'training plan' or course program.

Off-the-job Training

Training is provided off-the-job; trained direct by an industry trainer/assessor via block release and/or day release. The NEVC is responsible for delivering and assessing the competencies, which make up the qualification, and issuing the qualification upon successful completion.

On-the-job Training

Training is provided completely on the job by the employer. An industry qualified trainer/assessor will mentor the employer and provide advice and support in relation to training and assessment services. Employers are responsible for ensuring that balanced and structured training in the work environment is provided to achieve all competencies of the qualification. Our trainer/assessor will be responsible for assessing the competencies in consultation with the employer, which make up the qualification, and issuing the qualification upon successful completion.

Combination Training

Training is both on and off the job, trained directly by a trainer either at the employer's premises, or off-site at the college, or a combination of both. The NEVC is responsible for delivering and assessing the competencies which make up the qualification upon successful completion.
