Our Facilities
Off-the-job workshop training facilities are available at St Agnes, Lonsdale, Port Lincoln & Mount Gambier.
Our facilities have been purpose built for apprentice training in the Construction Industry and comprise of theory-based classrooms (including computer-based training facilities), fully kitted-out workshops and outdoor space for practical training and a mobile training unit when certain subjects are delivered remotely.
Our Trainers
Our trainers are highly experienced and qualified workplace trainers and assessors as well as being qualified tradespersons, including several licenced Builders. They bring extensive knowledge and experience to their industry area.
Training & Assessment Methods
NEVC is responsible for delivering and assessing the competencies, which make up the qualification, and issuing the qualification.
Training can be customised and delivered via a range of methods, as negotiated and outlined in the Training Contract ‘Training Plan’:
At the College: Training is provided at our facility; trained and assessed directly by an industry trainer/assessor, via block release and/or day release.
In the Workplace: Training is provided in the workplace; and trained and assessed directly by an industry trainer/assessor in consultation with the employer. We also provide advice and support the employer in relation to training and assessment services.
Combination Training: A combination of training and assessment in the workplace, and at the college.
In all cases, Employers are responsible for ensuring that balanced and structured training in the work environment is provided to achieve all competencies of the qualification.
Many components of Business, Retail & Financial Services training can also be delivered on-line.
Incentives available to Employers of Apprentices/Trainees
The Australian Government provides incentives to employers of apprentices and trainees. Standard funding amounts start from $1,500 up to $4,000, with extra financial assistance available in specific circumstances.
